How do you change?

Just some thoughts:

Have you ever had a sense that you are stuck?  That perhaps even if things are going your way, for the most part, that it just doesn’t seem to be hitting “the spot”?  Like so many of my colleagues, I rather stumbled into the work that I do…or perhaps if you are a believer, I was led by Karma and Divine Providence and timing.  Had you told me I would be hypnotizing clients and using my other ‘tools’ (NLP, TFH, OCT etc.) to guide people to heal, I would have said you were crazy.  Never in a million years did I think I would venture beyond my teacher training or my work with the RCMP.   And yet, here I am…often helping the very people I used to identify with to reach a better and healthier understanding of themselves.  This path leads to change and is not an easy one since resisting change is a human being’s greatest instinct.  Change comes often on the outside first.  Whether it is for health reasons, financial circumstances or family issues, we are often pushed into reassessing our position in the reality we have created for ourselves.  This forces us out of our comfort zone and that can be well….uncomfortable.  It is my belief that external change is good but only scratches the surface.  I like to constantly challenge myself…to put myself off balance and above all else…to learn.  I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge.  Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to realize that the more you learn the more there is to learn, and this is very humbling.  We all question our role in our lives and whether we are truly fulfilling our destiny.  Though external change is a good place to begin, it can be the catalyst for your most important work…which is to learn to go within to find what really matters.  The most profound and lasting change occurs when we sit still and connect with who we really are.  Meditation helps but it goes even beyond meditation.

For more guidance I suggest you read “The Journey” by Brandon Bays, or “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert  Both are individual explorations and quests for connection to the inner soul, and both are interesting reads.  I would love to hear how you changed and what the catalyst was that brought you to that moment.

Love yourself and the rest gets easier!
